I’VE GOT TO KEEP MY GARMENT WHITE
I’ve got to keep my garment white
Although there’s evil all around
I’ve got to travel spotless home
Despite the stains that here abound
I’ve got to keep my garment white
Although temptations press me sore
Although the host of hell assail
And seek to lead my soul astray
I’ve got to keep my garment white
I can’t afford the stain of sin
The stain of compromise and ills
That plague the world that now I dwell
I’ve got to keep my garment white
I can’t afford a little lie
I can’t join them to do what’s wrong
I won’t my garment stain with sin
I’ve got to keep my garment white
Spotlessly white no blemishes
A waiting Bride of Christ I am
A representative of His
I’ve got to keep my garment white
I’ve borne so much along this way
I can’t afford to end in hell
Because of carelessness allowed
I’ve got to keep my garment white
The Holy Spirit is my Guide
The grace of God doth keep me pure
And separate from this world of sin
I’ve got to keep my garment white
I’m waiting for the trumpet sound
I want to meet Christ in the sky
And go with Him at the first flight
I’ve got to keep my garment white
In heaven there’s nothing impure
I’m getting ready for my home
The rapture of saints near the door
I’ve got to keep my garment white
For I would dwell in mansions fair
Yes I will walk the streets of gold
And live with God eternally. AMEN
