IF ANY MAN BE IN CHRIST (2Corinthians 5:17)
If any man be in Christ
He’s a new creature
Old things are all passed away
All things become new
The new man experiences
Change in his whole life
Not just the outward alone
But the inward too
The old life of sin and guilt
Is completely gone
Living revelling in sin
A thing of the past
He will not refuse to do
His restitutions
Nor refuse to make wrongs right
Where it’s necessary
He will not just be in church
Outward dressing changed
But the heart so filled with sin
Though dressed like a saint
He will not just quote the word
Or have so much zeal
Singing in the choir with sin
And unrighteousness
He will not just pray with fire
Sing or speak in tongues
Yet living a dirty life
Claiming he is saved
He wil not just give to God
Tithes and offerings much
While in shady deals he’s found
And in compromise
His life will be filled with grace
Completely transformed
With no trace of secret sin
Nor of worldliness
He will live like saints of old
And like strangers here
Heaven will sure know his name
Not a stranger there
Are you a new man in Christ
Are you saved from sin
Friend make sure you are today
Before it’s too late
