YOU’VE GOT A PART TO PLAY, IT’S A MATTER OF CHOICE!

We’re in an age where evil is on display everywhere, and unfortunately you do not have to leave your home to see one. The mobile phone presents an opportunity of such. You’ve come online and are searching for something beneficial to you, a page with filthy contents just pops up and if you’re not disciplined enough to run for your dear life, you’ll be gone before you know it.

In overcoming this temptation peculiar to our age, you have a part to play. While Joseph took to his heels to avoid his destiny being terminated by Potiphar’s wife, Samson laid on Delilah’s knees and had his ministry truncated. It was a matter of their choices, it’s a matter of your choice. Their decision at the time of temptation determined the way their different lives ended.

When the temptation comes, you can decide to dig deeper into the dirty website and tell yourself “no one sees me” or “I’ll stop after this” etc. You have fallen into the devil’s trap and your soul is at risk of being eternally lost except you retrace your steps now and repent. It is not too late to “deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.” (Proverbs 6:5)

Job said “I made a covenant with mine eyes…” (Job 31:1a) and that guided his thoughts. You have a part to play in your final salvation, “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12). In your soul’s interest, discipline your eyes, ears, thought and in fact all your senses so you do not become defiled and unfit for Heaven. The grace of God is available, “…where sin abounded, grace did much more abound”. Romans 5:20b

Eternity is too long to toy with, you have a part to play in where you’ll spend it. The world is so dirty, but you can by God’s grace be spotless. “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.” (Titus 2:11-12)

Give yourself only to things that encourage holy living, shun evil in whatever guise. When the temptation to sin presents itself, run, run, run and run. Pray without ceasing, fill your heart with God’s word, feed your eyes with holy things. His grace is sufficient for you and me, may the Lord keep us spotless till He comes. Amen
