WHY SEEK YE CHRIST?
The story clearly comes to mind of some fellows who were seeking Christ because they ate of the loaves and were filled. ” Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.” (John 6:26-27 KJV)
Many people today, seek God for wrong reasons. Some do, so they could be healed, others so they could succeed. Some, so they can feel among, others so they can fulfil every Sunday routine. Some seek him because that was how their parents did, others do for mere material gain. However, some still seek him for the hope of eternal life.
Dear reader, why do you seek God? God knows your heart and your attitude will determine your altitude. Those who seek him for purposes that are outside gaining eternal life will back out at the slightest challenge. God is aware we need all these things and I’m not saying it shouldn’t be part of the content of our prayers. It should however be secondary to seeking eternal life. (John 6:33).
Jesus while going about to heal and deliver also pointed His beneficiaries to repentance and seeking eternal life. If you once had it as your priority but have changed over time, God is calling you to re-order your priorities. God loves you and He’s calling you to make Him your number one again.
YOUR DECISION TODAY WILL DETERMINE YOUR ETERNAL DESTINY.
