IT COULD HAVE BEEN YOU

Life has two sides of the coin

It is with its positives and negatives

When you rejoice for what God has done

Never look down on others it could have been you

When you bask in your good relationship with God

You wonder while others commit heinous sins

What if grace did not reach you and brought you to the fold

It could have been you don’t wonder too far

You are agile healthy soul and body

By the roadside you pass by a mad man eating dirt

Another deformed crawling all the way through

Don’t look down on them but for God it could have been you

When you ride in your sound new car

And you behold those with rickety ones along the highway

You see the heavy oozing smokes from others

Don’t look down on them it could have been you

When you dress up and look so elegant and tidy

You see the other fellow in near rags

Or just managing wearing fairly used clothes

Don’t look down on them it could have been you

You slept on bed on your self-owned comfortable apartment

The other person manages in a single room with others

You saw the riff raff who slept under the bridge

Don’t look down on them it could have been you

You did not choose your parents nor your lots in life

From his benevolence he gave you all things to enjoy

Be humble tread softly help the needy too

It could have been you but for God in your life
