I DON’T WANT IT EMPTY
I want a mansion up above
In God’s great kingdom bright and fair
I want it laced with glittering gold
A great beauty beyond compare
But I don’t want it empty
I want a mansion up above
I want it massive and so filled
With countless rewards yet untold
I want it shining oh so bright
Lord I don’t want it empty
I want a mansion up above
In the home of saints saved by grace
Its wondrous beauty to behold
Where flows the pure river of life
But I don’t want it empty
I want a mansion up above
Filled with gold jasper and sapphire
The blessed home that we’ve been told
Is a city that needs no light
Lord I don’t want it empty
I want a mansion up above
In Heaven’s new Jerusalem
A city that never grows old
Where lives the Lamb my Lord and King
But I don’t want it empty
I want a mansion up above
I want it filled with many crowns
I want my rewards manifold
And the mansion a treasure store
Lord I don’t want it empty
I want a mansion up above
I want to have it just by you
When all the saints within the fold
Will sing the great melodious songs
But I don’t want it empty
I want a mansion up above
In the glorious home of the blessed
I want to reach that land foretold
I want to live eternally
Dear Lord please make me ready.
Dear Lord please grant my heart desire
Give me the strength while here to work
Spend for your cause and be so bold
Declare your word never ashamed
So I don’t meet it empty.
I know you have the same desire
You want a mansion up above
And so your best you won’t withhold
So your mansion won’t empty be
May the Lord grant our requests. Amen
