Music is food for the soul
Beautifully calms the whole
Soothing and so relaxing
Inner gladness supplying

Music coming from the throne
Praising the Saviour alone
Not one that is of the world
But that in line with God’s word

Sing in trials and in pain
Twill your soul revive again
Sing with joy and with gladness
There’ll be no room for sadness

Does it seem your fire is low
And your pace in the race slow
Sing the songs that’ll bring you fire
In this race you can’t retire

Fill your soul with songs of praise
And to heaven your voice raise
Sing praises to the Most High
There’ll no longer be a sigh

Godly songs and hymns we’ll sing
Praises through Heaven’s court ring
Keep not silent raise your voice
It will make your soul rejoice
