LEAVE THAT TO ME
I had gone to a particular shop to get some things done. The owner, whom I knew to be a professional in the field, was to handle the project. After showing me samples of what I wanted, I pointed out an area that gave me some concerns. His gentle and simple answer was, “Leave that to me”.
That answer was so reassuring, so I stopped worrying; it immediately reminded me of our heavenly Father. There are times when we become bothered and worried about certain concerns in our lives. We wonder how they’ll get sorted out, and sometimes we fret. We forget that we have a Father who is capable of handling every single challenge we face.
The story was told of an old woman who was returning from the farm with the farm produce on her head. She was so burdened under the weight of the load she carried, and a truck driver passing by decided to give her a lift in the cargo bed of the truck. Looking through the rear mirror as they went along, the driver realised that the old woman still had the load on her head.
This is the case with many believers. We hold on to our burdens despite the numerous promises in the scriptures that we can rely on. We confess we belong to the Lord and that we’ve committed our lives unto him. We pray, telling Him about life’s struggles, and yet we hold on to the troubles. Our Father, however, remains able to help us.
What are you currently bothered about? Is there a challenge in your business, health, home, or career? Are you going through a situation that seems to be crippling your faith? Does it seem to you that the night season will never end? Don’t forget you have a Father who is all-able. Leave the situation to Him; He’ll sort it out for you. Amen
