*”DEAF EARS”*

Nehemiah would rebuild
Jerusalem’s broken walls
He had received approval
From the king to do the same

He went over to the land
Called the Jews and said to them
Jerusalem lieth waste
And the gates are burned with fire

Let us rise and build the walls
That we be not a reproach
So they all strengthened their hands
The work determined to do

In the corner were some men
Sanballat the Horonite
Tobiah the Ammonite
And Geshem the Arabian

It grieved them exceedingly
There has come a man to seek
The welfare of Israel
And the walls will be rebuilt

They tried to discourage them
They despised so scornfully
But the people wouldn’t yield
To their discouraging words

The people strengthened their hands
Jerusalem’s wall was built
Despite the oppositions
Their desire was achieved

You may be in the same state
Tirelessly you have worked
Rather than a great applause
With their words your heart they wound

You are doing a great job
Nothing should make you think less
Turn a deaf ear don’t give heed
Face the task you’ll reach your goal

Keep at it never give up
Don’t listen to Sanballat
Never underrate yourself
At the end you’ll testify
