AWARE

All hopes that I would submit the project by the deadline were lost. My laptop had been “acting up” for hours. I went to friends who could help so I could at least retrieve the document and send it to another laptop, but all attempts at retrieval hit a brick wall. I was confused about what to do next and apprehensive about what my failure to meet the deadline would mean.
In my deep confusion, I decided to table the situation before Heaven. I was in a serious dilemma and needed Heaven’s urgent response. That was the only option that would swiftly resolve my apprehension. Fortunately, Heaven came through for me, as always. The laptop responded within minutes, and my confusion and apprehension were replaced with exhilaration!
Sometimes as God’s children, we find ourselves in difficult and perplexing situations. At such times, we’re tempted to panic. We forget that we have a Father who is ever present and willing to assist us. Some run from pillar to post seeking any kind of solution. Others engage in questionable things while seeking urgent answers, rather than wait on God to intervene.
It seems easier to seek alternatives than waiting on God, especially when the challenge needs an immediate solution by our judgment. Any solution outside God will however bring regrets at the end. Sarah had advised Abraham about getting a child through Hagar, but that wasn’t God’s plan. Eventually, she requested that Hagar and Ishmael be sent away (Genesis 21:8–21).
As God’s children, He is aware of our distressing situations, and even though we cannot see Him physically, He is with us and will undertake for us promptly. Remain resolute in your faith and obedience, even when His timing seems different. Whatever the situation is that bothers you currently, and for which the answer seems delayed, God is aware.
Amid your perplexity, do not lose sight of His abiding presence and willingness to answer your prayers. Turn unto Him in your difficulty, He never fails. He is working behind the scene. Pray, praise God and hold on faithfully to Him, at the end of it all, you will testify. Psalm 50:15 says, “And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.”
Keep relying on Him, that harrowing situation will become your springboard to greater heights and a means of strengthening your faith and that of others. You’ll eventually be able to sing “… I thank Him for the storms He brought me through, for if I’d never had a problem, I’d never know that God could solve them, I’d never know what faith in God could do” (Through It All, by Andraé Crouch).
